Just had a call from a reliable and well informed source who says that, effective today, The Billings Gazette is no longer being delivered to homes or racks west of Livingston. Subscribers in Bozeman apparently have been told that they can sign up for an e-mailed version of the paper for $5 a month that looks on the screen just like the printed version. High fuel costs were cited as the reason.
You know how I hate to correct you, David, but it's Bozeville, not Bozo.
ReplyDeleteThe question before the house is whether this is a Bozeman-only deal, or if anyone with a broadband connection can get in on it (like, say, a homesick expat in Mesa, Arizona...).
ReplyDeleteChecked the Gazoo's subscription webpage, and found that e-editions are available to everyone -- for five bucks a week, not five dollars a month.
ReplyDeleteI just checked and it's five bucks a month, NOT five bucks a week. Five bucks a week would be more expensive than the print edition in Billings.
ReplyDeleteThe bigger question is, how long until all papers are delivered that way?
