Bummer for Burns

Another notch on his belt ... no surprises. It would be a shame to see this beautiful scandal produce nothing in the way of reform. It could just end manifesting as the bad apple syndrome. We've designed a system designed to foster corruption. We WANT the moneyed interests to have special access to elected officials. "One-dollar-one-vote" = democracy. Our supreme court says it is so. We WANT their money to determine political outcomes. We accept corruption as normal, and only punish those who are flagrantly bad. A bribe is a bribe. We need systemic reform. I don't see it coming from this.
