N is for News

The Missoula Independent interviews Don Cyphers, the estimable publisher of the detestable Montana News Association.

Funny about that quote from Cyphers: Every time I've ever talked to him, he's mentioned lawyers, too.

I know the Independent meant well, but it failed to give its readers even a hint of the true strangeness, the bottomlessly stupid nature of the Montana News Association. It chose one story in which Cyphers' "news service" blamed the wicked for Katrina. That's garden-variety stuff you'll find in dozens of fringe, fraudulent-Christian rags. But Cyphers go where no one has gone before -- into a grammarless jungle of confused ramblings, English-as-a-fourth-language rants against targets apparently chosen at random. The Independent, alas, missed the boat.

I find the whole thing laughable, I was in N.O. withing days of Katrina. What I found most amazing was that God had spared the French Quarter and all the sex shops. Therefore, I don't think Katrina was divine disign, huh.
