On the other hand, I was disappointed to hear Dave Berg repeat this tired argument Thursday about warrantless wiretapping: If you're not doing anything wrong, why worry about it?
Wulfgar deals with that question here. To which I add only: I think I remember Stalin making the exact same argument in about 1947.

I mean, even the rightwing morons that actually LISTEN to Turd in the Morning ought to be able to figure THIS one out! Turdinthemorning, with this pronouncement, has lost any rightwing credentials he ever had. Now, he is simply an idiot. Too bad that Turd's WIVES didn't have cameras spying on him when he was doing his bergamy routine! He probly wouldn't'a been so hot for surveilance then, would he????
Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers!
I was rather apalled last Memeorial Day at Mountview Cemetery when Californian Berg was one of the speakers at the Memorial Day Services. I was apalled because he was wearing a Marine Corps League Jacket and NO cover. He was out of uniform. Of course by the time all of us walked down to the lower (new) Veteran's Section for the serrvices there he was long gone--NO photo ops, Channels 2 and 8 were gone.
He is one of the biggest phonies in Billings.
Turd musta thought he was Rambo, when in reality he's just Turdo!
Berg is in good company. Remember former Attorney General Edwin Meese? He said people didn't need to worry about unlawful arrest because the cops only arrest the bad guys.
If you guys want to listen to a real conservative, check in on 910 AM right now( 1 pm to 4 pm MST), Mark Levin is filling in for Sean Hannity.
btw, I agree, the argument "If you're not doing anything wrong, why worry about it?" misses the point and is rather stupid.
Well, Ed, I suppose that's true. And the cops ALSO only soddomize guys with broomsticks who happen to be the wrong shade of color! It's so much easier that way. Maybe they oughta just broomstick EVERYBODY just to make sure there ain't any terrists hidin' amongst us! Couldn't hurt.
Mr. Berg uses this argument to defend one of the most secretive administrations in history.
If Dave's logic is consistently applied, he is a big critic of of the Bush presidency.
Innocence is not a valid reason to give up your constitutional rights.
Berg is a blessing upon the fine people of Billings and Montana!
Repent and listen to his wisdom or it will be Hell for you all!
Guess I prefer HELL! But wait a moment. Isn't that where adulterers go?? Guess bergy might just be there too!!!@
Berg has done his best to drive off opposing viewpoints - he puts disagreeable callers up against the top or bottom of the hour and then cuts them off.
That is an interesting phenomenon of talk radio - Air America does it too. They only want to talk to the choir. They don't want reasoned debate with give and take. I listened to Air America yesterday while driving - it's on 760 AM from Boulder and you can pick it up on the highway away from power lines - when a caller called into to voice disagreement with the host, she talked over him, eventually yelled at him, and hung up. It's not just a right wing talk thing. They are all jerks.
Berg, at least, doesn't yell, but he does his best to make sure that his show consists of right wingers talking to other right wingers - jerks in a circle jerk.
Does anyone remember the program several years ago, when Berg said the Conrad Burns was from Montana, and that Burns' accent was similar to the way Montana ranchers speak. Several callers immediately called in to correct him (Burns is, of course, from Missouri), at first Berg was kind of contentious, not believing that he was wrong. When he finally realized that he didn't know what he was talking about, he half-heartedly admitted that he was wrong, but still stuck to his "Montana ranch-speak" explanation...
