Marvin Granger steps down
"Your Opinion Please," the best radio talk show I know of at any level, is no more. Marvin Granger has retired.

Truly a loss to local programming. As an obsessive collector of radio broadcasting, I'm glad I recorded several hundred broadcasts of that show, even back into the "Ivan" days.
It indeed was a great show with a loyal following. I actually met Ivon in the early 80's at the old downtown McDonalds. The last time I saw him wasn't to log before his passing. He was coming out of the Post Office Newsstand (I am dating myself, Stogies) and hae had several newspapers under his arm and was headed up the alley behind Jakes aka the General Cuaster Hotel.
In the early days of The Outpost, Ivon actually wrote a couple of stories for us. The only one I can remember for sure was about Thanksgiving. Too far back for a link, but I recall that it was nicely done.

A sad day for listeners. I will miss hearing Marvin's voice, and I will miss "Your Opinion Please."
