Bloggers need not apply
Had a great time this morning talking to Walt Gulick's ethics class about media ethics, such as they are. The usual question was asked of about 20 students: How many of you read blogs? The usual answer came back: zero. At least this time, I didn't have to explain what a blog is, although I suspect some were wondering.

Walt is a great teacher! I took a phiolosphy class from him when he first came to Eastern many, many years ago. I really enjoyed his class. I'm glad to hear that he's still teaching!

Something tells me you might have gotten the same answer if you had asked about newspapers instead of blogs.
Anonymous2,
Actually one person admitted to having read a newspaper that morning (although only the sports section). I used to always ask my journalism students about newspaper readership but pretty much gave it up as a lost cause. Some of that, I suppose, is the college thing: I have read newspapers all of my life, except when I was in college. But it certainly seems as if blogging hasn't sparked interest in an alternative to newspapers.
