IMHO the writer left out the most important part: the best beer in the country is being put out by the microbreweries (Say, hey, to General Custer Stout!).
The trend is affecting your local economy already. The price paid on malting barley contracts is down significantly and the amount contracted is also down. bonnie

I'm still doing my part, though I'm not helping the big breweries. If it will help the economy I'll try to increase my consumption.
