Wulfgar is correct. Rove can now talk trash with impunity, and he can do so because of the gutless Whitehouse press corps and the gutless news organizations that stand behind it.
Reporters that ask tough questions are ostracised. Desperate to maintain their relationships with the president, they return to regurgitating the trite crap that he feeds them. Ironically, the relationship that they cling to becomes worthless.
Does this make the president evil. Hell no. He is doing what powerful men do. The problem lies with the coverage.
America's major news organizations have betrayed the the trust of the nation.
