Local boy makes good

The indefatigable Jackie Corr sends along this link about a Miles City native who became CFO for Microsoft. Jackie says that the article doesn't mention Conners' role in the Touch America fiasco.

Dennis Gaub cannoized Mr. Connors in a thread on City Lights last month:

"By the way, here’s a little trivia fact: the chief financial officer of Microsoft Corp., i.e. Bill Gates’ money man, is one John Connors. He’s from Miles City (my old stomping grounds) and his dad was or maybe still is a Custer County commissioner, Dan Connors. Those who know Montana high school football will recognize that legendary name: coach of the powerhouse Miles City Sacred Heart Shamrocks before the school closed."

As I told Jackie privately, Connors will probably come back here and run for Senate to save us from ourselves...

Wow, Dog, you have a memory. Yes, I did mention John Connors. He received mention in the Wall Street Journal a while ago. I had no idea of his purported involvement in Touch America. Because of Jackie's ties to Butte, I defer there. It's news to me.
